Pelo visto arqueólogos estão na moda. O melhor de todos continua sendo o Indiana Jones, com certeza. Toda vez que me lembro de suas aventuras, me delicio a recordar as risadas e emoções vividas no final da década de 80 e inÃcio de 90.
Depois surgiram outros como a Lara Croft, da série de mesmo nome, Robert Langdon, do Código Da Vinci e outras obras do Dan Brown e também, mais recentemente, Benjamin Gates, da série A Lenda do Tesouro Perdido, nenhum com o charme da grife Indiana Jones.
Neste último Benjamin Gates volta no segundo filme da série com o subtÃtulo de O Livro dos Segredos (National Treasure: Book of Secrets, EUA, 2007, 124 min), referência ao possÃvel livro secreto passado de presidente para presidente dos EUA. Entre tantos segredos que o livro guarda – da existência da Ãrea 51 à morte de JFK – está parte do enigma que leva a uma cidade perdida, meio Inca, meio Maia, feita de ouro, um verdadeiro Fort Knox pré-Guerra Civil americana.
O filme em si esforça-se para ser interessante e engraçado. Mas a saÃda encontrada são clichês que os cinéfilos acham sem graça mas a platéia vibra. Claro, serve muito bem como diversão de fim-de-semana, sem compromisso. O Nicolas Cage já fez papéis muito melhores em filmes como Despedida de Las Vegas ou mais recentemente em O Senhor da Guerra.
Gosto de filmes que procuram tesouros escondidos. Mas prefiro o Indiana Jones como protagonista principal, mal posso esperar pelo seu retorno agora em 2008!
